Here are a few ideas with links to crafts and recipes you can create with your children this June! Have fun!
6/1 National Doughnut Day: In 1917, during WWI, The Salvation Army began a mission to provide spiritual and emotional support for the U.S. Troops. Volunteers set up huts to hand out clothes, supplies & baked goods near the front lines. Due to rationing of goods, doughnuts were served in place of the baked goods & often fried in the soldier’s helmets! While unofficial, National Doughnut Day started in 1938 to honor The Salvation Army’s “Doughnut Girls”. With the large variety of doughnuts on the market today, what is your favorite doughnut?
